About the job
We are seeking a Machine Learning/Computer Vision engineer who will develop ML solutions from concept in order to push the boundaries of what's possible with various sensors/cameras on our AR/VR/MR products. Working closely with hardware engineers, you will translate sensor capabilities into robust ML models that perform in real-world conditions. Your work will directly impact Anduril's ability to deliver cutting-edge defense technology, with the opportunity to identify and develop novel ML applications across our product portfolio.
This role is based onsite in our Mountain View, CA office.

What You'll Do
- Propose and prototype innovative solutions to solve real-world problems, leveraging the latest state-of-the-art techniques in the field
- Develop and maintain core ML pipelines
- Train and deploy deep learning models for real-time applications
- Develop performance metrics for ML algos
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sensor, camera, and system teams
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field + 6 years of working experience
- OR Masters/PhD + 2 years of working experience
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch or equivalent deep learning frameworks
- Strong technical foundation in machine learning principles and algorithms with at least 2 years of experience building real-world ML systems for image processing
- Strong foundation in computer vision fundamentals, including both classical techniques and modern deep learning approaches
- Experience with the full ML development lifecycle (data preparation, model training, validation, deployment)
- An understanding of how to optimize ML models for real-time or resource-constrained environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong technical communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience with real-time ML systems (e.g. mobile SoCs, model quantization)
- Solid understanding of sensors, optics, and cameras
- Background in object detection, image enhancement, or similar computer vision tasks
- Experience with uncooled LWIR imaging or 3D imaging
- Track record of deploying ML solutions in production environments
