We re partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in Iowa seeking an Electrical/Mechatronics Engineer who is passionate about hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement in manufacturing equipment and processes. This role offers the chance to work directly with manufacturing teams to enhance and modernize machinery, driving quality, ergonomics, and automation upgrades.

What You ll Do

  • Collaborate hands-on with manufacturing personnel to solve equipment problems and support project teams
  • Assist in developing proposals for machinery system improvements, upgrades, and modifications
  • Provide guidance on electrical wiring, panel construction, and sensor applications while maintaining documentation
  • Implement machinery improvements to boost quality and ergonomics
  • Reprogram existing machinery to perform new functions and enhance automation
  • Develop and troubleshoot Programming Logic Controller (PLC) systems and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) operator interfaces
  • Stay current with safety standards and emerging technologies
  • Develop and deliver training on new technologies for maintenance teams
  • Research and recommend ways to improve current and future equipment

What You Bring

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant hands-on experience (4-6 years preferred)
  • Strong electrical and electronics knowledge including wiring, panel building, sensor integration, and automation
  • Experience with PLC development, troubleshooting, and HMI operator interface design
  • Proactive approach to safety and technology adoption
  • Excellent communication skills for training and collaboration
