Equifax is looking for a Data Scientist Specialist to join our USIS Data and Analytics team. Data and Analytics, the advanced analytical division of Equifax, offers state of the art solutions to current and emerging business challenges. Through our data analytics, customer insights, modeling, and consulting services, we deliver the analytics and insights companies need to enhance their business.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging statistical and analytical projects to develop and test new methodologies and product solutions that drive revenue growth. You will have the opportunity to work using cutting edge cloud technology and advanced statistical techniques.

This role will manage analytical projects from beginning to end. This includes leading discussions with internal and external customers during discovery and design phases, interfacing with internal technology teams for data requirements and extraction, performing the statistical analysis and testing, presenting the findings, and working with Product and Implementation teams to put solutions into production.

This role requires being in our Atlanta, Georgia office (One Atlantic Center) 3 days/week on Tues - Thurs.

What you'll do
  • Utilize subject matter expertise of data structures, analytics, algorithms/models, and strong computer science fundamentals to lead data preparation, analytics, and development of deployable solutions across multiple projects
  • Collect, analyze and interpret large data assets to define and build multiple innovative solution components leveraging business and technical expertise. Lead the analytical strategy on critical technical capabilities
  • Able to analyze and prepare complex and new data sources and incorporate them into analytical solutions.
  • Package, summarize, visualize and perform storytelling on analytical findings and results for management and business users
  • Own and orchestrate development, monitoring, and decision making on models developed from inception through lifetime of models in production
  • Create detailed documentation outlining design and technical requirements of each solution coordinating with key stakeholders for approvals.
  • Communicate results to senior management and external stakeholders, able to communicate the strategic impact of the work
  • Manage and evaluate the technical work of experienced data scientists guiding them on deliverable quality and accuracy
  • Serve as SME consultant for COE / Business Unit / Regions, share best practices globally

What experience you need
  • BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline; Master's Degree strongly preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in a related role, with experience demonstrating leadership capabilities
  • Proven track record of designing and developing predictive models in real-world applications
  • Experience with model performance evaluation and predictive model optimization for accuracy and efficiency
  • Proven quantitative analytical experience, including hands-on and background in statistics, various modeling techniques including machine learning algorithms, and data manipulation of large, various datasets
  • Proficient in data querying using SQL/BIgQuery as well as statistical programming languages such as Python
