We are looking for a Cafe Assistant for our client in Boston, MA
Job Title: Cafe Assistant
Job Location: Boston, MA
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
Pay Range: $17hr - $22hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Must be able to communicate in English with good customer service skills.
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift in a crowded environment.
  • Due to the nature of the job, the candidate should be able to lift 10 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Experience:
  • 1 3 years of cashiering experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up and break down the coffee service area, ensuring all required items are available.
  • Prepare coffee, tea, and various beverages; clean related equipment after use.
  • Serve food items following proper portioning and service standards.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of food and non-food items in service areas.
  • Follow safety, food handling, storage, and temperature control procedures.
  • Cut, tray, transport, wrap, or dispose of food items as required.
  • Clean preparation and service areas, including equipment, floors, walls, counters, and windows.
  • Receive, replenish, and store supply items appropriately.
  • Assist customers courteously and helpfully, and promote food sales.
  • Accurately ring in purchases and follow established cash-handling procedures.
  • Document errors in cashing according to policies.
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to cashiering.
Should Have:
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
Skills:
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand for the entire workday.
  • Ability to use cleaning tools and solutions following safety procedures.
Qualification and Education:
  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
