Summary

The Cocoa team designs and implements frameworks which deliver user level features and developer APIs that are essential building blocks used by Apple and third parties to create top-notch applications for the Apple platforms. The team's deliverables include a wide range of rich functionality in areas such as user interface, text, graphics, document handling, asset management, data modeling, persistence, concurrency, and operating system interaction.We are looking for critical thinkers with a sharp eye for detail who would like to play a key role in qualifying the Cocoa frameworks and helping ensure Apple software is of the highest quality.

Key Qualifications

5+ years of Test Automation development and CI experienceUnderstanding of Application development and Unit Testing preferably using Xcode and XCTestStrong object oriented programming and software design skills, preferably in Swift or Objective-CAbility to investigate, and debug difficult runtime problems on Unix based systems and work towards resolutionExperience with developing system and feature level test plans and test casesExperience writing production-ready automated UI and non-UI tests

Description

This is a hybrid QA/Automation role with a focus on leading our overall automation effort for iOS. As a Tools and Automation Quality Engineer you will work alongside engineering teams to deeply understand the technology and develop test plans around it. Your automation work will involve developing and maintaining test applications and automated test suites for exercising various SDK/APIs and functionality in the System for the Graphics, Text and UI frameworks. Your debugging skills and attention to detail will help us to mine actionable defect reports on a daily basis while continually improving the health of our test products.We encourage curiosity and initiative, value diversity, and depend on the ability to learn and grow when approaching new features and technology. Education & Experience

BA/BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
