About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake SME Architect to lead and execute a strategic Data Platform Transformation (DPT) migration initiative. This role demands deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, data engineering, and cloud-based analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding cross-functional teams through the migration process while ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end Snowflake DPT migration strategy, design, and execution
  • Architect scalable data solutions leveraging Snowflake's advanced features (e.g., data sharing, zero-copy cloning, time travel)
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define migration requirements and timelines
  • Optimize Snowflake performance through clustering, partitioning, and query tuning
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle
  • Conduct monthly on-site visits to nearby cities for stakeholder alignment and project reviews
  • Provide technical mentorship and training to internal teams on Snowflake best practices

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake in enterprise environments
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale data platform migrations
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica, Talend)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to work on-site in Portland, OR and travel monthly to nearby cities

Preferred Skills

  • SnowPro Certification (Core or Advanced Architect)
  • Experience with data lakehouse architectures and real-time data pipelines
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices in data environments
  • Background in healthcare, finance, or retail data domains is a plus
