Configure, troubleshoot, and support Cisco ASA, Firepower, and other Cisco security appliances as part of the firewall migration process.
Develop and implement network security best practices for Cisco firewall deployments, ensuring strong protection against cyber threats.
Provide ongoing support during the post-migration phase, troubleshooting any issues, and optimizing the firewall infrastructure.
Create detailed technical documentation for firewall configurations, migration steps, and network topology.
Assist with regular audits and risk assessments to ensure firewall configurations are aligned with security standards and business requirements.
Work alongside the cybersecurity team to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to verify security posture post-migration.
Help train and mentor junior network engineers on Cisco firewall technologies and migration strategies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco firewalls (specifically ASA, Firepower, and other Cisco security products).
In-depth knowledge of network security protocols, firewall rule sets, VPN, NAT, IPSec, and other firewall configurations.
Experience in firewall migration projects, including planning, execution, testing, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), especially in large, complex network environments.
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
CCNP Security or Palo Alto PCNSE certification is highly preferred.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
