Job Details

Role name: AWS Database Migration Engineer Work Location: (Camden, onsite)

Role and responsibilities:

Must Have:

Strong experience with schema and data migration tools like ora2pg, AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, IAM, S3, EC2, Lambda etc.
Strong knowledge of Oracle-specific features and (e.g., PL/SQL, packages, sequences, triggers) and expertise in finding their PostgreSQL equivalents.
Ability to collaborate with database developers/programmers and lead Oracle to PostgreSQL code refactoring efforts. Experience in providing alternative solutions for complex migration challenges
Proven track record of leading technical discussions and presenting migration strategies. Strong customer-facing skills with ability to communicate technical concepts to various stakeholders

Nice to have:

Proficient with schemas design, data modeling, data types, normalization/denormalization etc.
Knowledge of SQL writing and refactoring skills. Experience in both PL/SQL and PL/pgSQL. Query optimization and troubleshooting capabilities.
Experience with NoSQL transformation (preferably DynamoDB)
Experience in implementing high availability, backup/restore strategies and solutions, monitoring and alerting, and security and audit compliance in the AWS database environment (Preferably for RDS for PostgreSQL or Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL)
Optimize PostgreSQL performance via indexing, partitioning, vacuuming, and query tuning
Experience with database administration and operations support for managed database services (Preferably Oracle/PostgreSQL)
Knowledge of writing/refactoring SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL
Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
