Develops and improves manufacturing processed by studying product and manufacturing methods.
Duties and responsibilities
- \n
- Using manufacturing engineering practices, responsible for writing routings/manufacturing instructions. \n
- Coordinate the successful transition of new products and technology into the production arena. \n
- Write appropriation requests and prepare quotes. \n
- Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews. \n
- Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specs and other documents. \n
- Design and procure tools/equipment. \n
- Process development and documentation of manufacturing work instructions. \n
- Support prototyping activities of new product development. \n
- Evaluate and solve production problems. \n
- Coordinate production operations, including all activities of the shop floor and follow established procedures and approved processes. \n
- Other duties as assigned \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Bachelor's Degree/Technical Degree in Mechanical Engineering. \n
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. \n
- LEAN manufacturing experience. \n
- Experience/knowledge with process and equipment validation, PFMEA , IQ/OQ/PQ, etc. \n
- CAD experience/knowledge. \n
- Candidate must possess good project management skills and initiative in taking on and completing projects. \n
- Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills. \n
Working conditions

- May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals. NOTE: All safety precautions will be used. \n
- Plant wide climate control and air conditioning \n
- Could work in areas with excessive noise. NOTE: Ear protection available. \n
Physical requirements
- \n
- Could require intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing. \n
- Required to do repetitive work. \n
- Periodic lifting of materials not to exceed 50 pounds. \n
- Includes frequent walking, bending, kneeling, stopping, crawling, and crouching. \n
