Network / System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Work with an application development team, infrastructure operations and engineering team to develop monitoring solutions that will mimic end-user experience and synthetic transactions

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) or similar, including experience
• 3+ years Development or Architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications
• 2+ years production systems engineering and/or support role
• Proven experience with Splunk and Dynatrace implementation, design/build of dashboards and alerting
• Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, shell scripts, etc.
• Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual
• A strategic thinker who can link business context to technical reality
• Able to work in a fast paced environment whilst meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of how different components in an application work together, interaction with the middleware, system software and hardware
• Understanding of how the clients are using the systems to benchmark key performance indicators, document use cases, create test and implementation plans
• Diverse engineering skills to architect and implement monitoring solutions

Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31
