Java Developer Level 2

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Java Developer Level 2 in Cincinnati, OH.

This client is looking for a mid-level Java Developer to join a collaborative team working on two high-impact healthcare applications:
* A centralized consent management platform to standardize patient/guardian consent logic across systems in the Health & Wellness space
* A communications middleware layer that improves outbound messaging experiences, preventing duplicate notifications and enforcing global opt-out settings

Responsibilities:
* Java Developer Level 2 will contribute to the design and development of scalable backend systems using Java
* Build and consume REST APIs in a secure, performant environment
* Support cloud-native application development on Azure (or equivalent cloud)
* Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies
* Ensure quality and maintainability of code through best practices and peer review
* As a Java Developer Level 2, you will help troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed
* Collaborate cross-functionally to support a high-quality user experience

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in Java development (JavaScript and JavaScript Frameworks like React, Next.js, Angular are nice to have)
* 3+ years of working with REST APIs (design, creation, consumption); Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger is a plus, not a requirement
* 2+ years of experience deploying to cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS)
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and JIRA
* Experience working in secure environments (e.g., HIPAA, PII, PCI compliance)
* Strong collaboration and communication skills; Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
