Job Details
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads projects of moderate scope and complexity or serves as a technical advisor to project teams.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop and manage project plans of all sizes, project schedules, team goals, success criteria, and project milestones. Must be able to take ownership and responsibility to manage issues, risks, decisions, and the overall success of a project.
- Serves as the liaison between the customer community and the development teams through which requirements flow.
- Conducts interviews and leads requirements gathering sessions with business representatives to elicit and document business requirements for system development.
- Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
- Communicates effectively with business customers and elicits feedback for applications programmers and technology solution providers.
- Works with application developers/contractors to analyze and develop conceptual designs of system components.
- Provides training and technical support to system end-users.
- Follows up with internal stakeholders about completed tasks to ensure client satisfaction.
- Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Guides, mentors, and reviews the work of the Business Analyst team.
- Works with Quality Assurance to ensure proper testing of system development efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Keys to success in this position include a Bachelor s degree in business administration, information systems, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
- Equivalent years of experience may be substituted. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a Business Analyst capacity, focused on a workers compensation insurance business environment, and five (5) years of insurance business experience (underwriting, commercial lines underwriting, business support services, WC or GL UA, etc.).
- Other minimum requirements include previous experience/exposure to business analysis methodology, process improvement methodology, project and risk management, and industry-related tools.
- Someone who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and who has a strong aptitude for technology and extensive insurance experience.
