Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Analyst, Legal (Retail Insurance) for a direct placement assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Des Moines, IA, or Hartford, CT.
The Legal team is seeking a Senior Analyst to prepare, review, and file contract forms for fixed annuities, fixed index annuities, registered index-linked annuities, pension transfer products, funding agreements, and other innovative insurance products with state Departments of Insurance and the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission (IIPRC). This role also supports the product implementation team with enterprise-wide new product development.

This role also supports the product implementation team with enterprise-wide new product development.
Responsibilities :
- Analyze state insurance laws and IIPRC standards for new product development, including impacts to policy/contract language.
- Correspond and negotiate with state regulators on objections to product submissions; prepare responses.
- Prepare new product submissions in SERFF and identify ways to streamline the process to reduce time from submission to approval.
- Review, file, and obtain approvals (where required) for advertising and enterprise branding initiatives.
- Maintain records of regulated forms history; coordinate with business partners to ensure proper forms are available and used.
- Support internal operations and third-party administrators to ensure products function in accordance with policy/contract language for all in-force policies.
- Maintain professional contact with state insurance departments, the IIPRC, and other insurance professionals nationwide.
- 5+ years in the annuity and/or life insurance industry, with 3+ years in a legal, compliance, or product development function preferred.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for life insurance and annuities.
- Experience filing insurance products via SERFF.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization skills.
- Familiarity with key aspects of insurance administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat/Professional, and related software.
