- Contract Duration: 6 months | contract-to-hire
- Worksite Location: Minneapolis, MN or Madison, WI | Hybrid onsite 3 days per week
- Compensation:
- Senior: $45 - $65 per hour
- Lead: $50 - $75 per hour
What you will do as a Database Engineer (DevOps):
- Design, automate, and manage Snowflake-based data solutions in Azure.
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code templates to provision and maintain resources at scale.
- Automate key database processes including provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and backups.
- Optimize Snowflake performance through query tuning, warehouse sizing, and storage management.
- Build tools and scripts that reduce manual workload and empower self-service for developers and analysts.
- Implement consistent configuration management using Ansible and prevent drift across environments.
- Integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines and standardize deployments.
- Enforce security, compliance, and governance policies across cloud database platforms.
- Partner with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Stay current on cloud-native offerings, Snowflake enhancements, and DevOps tooling to drive continuous improvement.
What you will bring to the Database Engineer (DevOps)role:
- Proven expertise with Snowflake, including performance tuning, workload optimization, and security.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (Snowflake on Azure, Cosmos DB, Snowpipe configuration).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or similar).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), CI/CD, and monitoring practices.
- 5 8 years of progressive database administration experience (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, or similar RDBMS).
- Deep understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and database security best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous optimization mindset.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented, and self-starting approach, comfortable thriving in a fast-moving environment.
