Job Description Summary
This is an exciting new role within the System Technologies and Adaptive Intelligence (STAI) team in Gas Power Engineering (GPE), who's organizational vision is to create "An artificial-intelligence-enhanced electric power & CO2 focused innovation team that supports and incubates new ventures and ideas through diligent engineering to provide cleaner, more flexible power to the world," and we are looking for dynamic systems design engineers to help us achieve this vision, focusing on our team that brings Gas Power products from conceptual design to new product introduction.
The person in the Technology Integration Leader - Advanced Plant Systems Design role will lead the creation, design, and analysis for the next generation of traditional and non-traditional Gas Power products working closely with Product Management to define competitive product requirements, design product concepts and transition the results into New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. The Advanced Plant Systems Design team is responsible for the pre-NPI conceptual design of advanced plant-level systems, which includes gas turbines and accessories, steam turbines, HRSGs, generators, and traditional plant systems. Additionally, the team is responsible for the pre-NPI conceptual design, industrialization, and validation of non-traditional "incubator" products. The team works closely with subject matter experts across the engineering organization to develop and deploy advanced system modeling to relentlessly build new product cost and performance modeling capabilities to deliver high quality product concept assessments.
This role requires access to US Export Controlled information.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is 111,200.00 - 185,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15% annual performance incentive.

- Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long-range product line and engineering productivity needs. Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing and stakeholders to define and create competitive advanced plant, gas turbine and non-traditional incubator product solutions for future investment. Demonstrate a high "say-do" ratio and perform on-time and technically excellent product concept trade studies and competitor assessments. Review personal work with peers and CTH community and proactively address concerns and retire risks.
- Drive consistent "apples-to-apples" assumptions and technical comparisons across advanced product options to clearly show technology impact and investment opportunity. Partner with Technical Competitive Assessment to understand market position and propose new Gas Power programs and countermeasures to address risk and improve product customer value.
- Lead and provide the key technical direction to large projects with critical business impact. Develop plant conceptual design product cost, performance and operability design tools and methods with emphasis to deploy Adaptive Intelligence methods for robust solutions and design productivity. Deploy Nx or other tools to create compelling visual concept layouts and product system design for traditional and non-traditional incubator product solutions.
- Exercise Curiosity by striving for improved products & processes to support customers. On occasion, ideate, design, develop, and integrate non-traditional product offerings aligned with long range business interests.
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE Vernova customers using reports, records, and letters. Foster effective communication and simplify complex problems into understandable messages.
- Use knowledge and expertise to market winning proposals in anticipation of business product needs. Create and champion product innovation through the identification and adoption of the latest technology. Create high value Gas Power external program concept papers and technology proposals for third-party funding.
- Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company.

- Assure timely communication of technical and business information among organizations and within the team. Lead integration activities for traditional and non-traditional incubator technologies. - Champion "systems thinking", such as anticipating and articulating risks, understanding the full lifecycle implications of design decisions, and accounting for scalability implications of technology solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- At least 8 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity.

- Problem analysis and resolution skills. Specifically, demonstrated creativity and background in systems modeling methods and complex design space optimization analysis plus hands-on expertise using today's engineering design tools for gas turbine accessory systems, steam systems or plant systems.
- Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in at least one technical specialty, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within this field. Specifically, a strong background in one or more relevant fundamental sciences such as fluid mechanics, structural mechanics, aerodynamics, combustion, thermodynamics, heat transfer.
