Staff Domain Rust Security Engineer

Prestigious Enterprise Security Services Company is currently seeking a Staff Domain Rust Security Engineer. Candidate will bridge the gap between Security Research and Engineering in the development of new security features that enhance our ransomware protection, detection, and remediation capabilities. This role sits within Security Research, reporting to the VP of Research, and takes innovative security ideas and works closely with the engineering team to collaborate on proofs-of-concept, architectures, solutions, and mechanisms to make the ideas reality.
Responsibilities:
- PoC Development & Engineering Collaboration
- Assist or lead the development of initial stage product capabilities that measure and/or demonstrate the feasibility of new protections.
- Work closely with agent, kernel, and cloud engineering teams to ensure approaches align with real-world constraints and implementation strategies.
- Learn from Engineering’s technology stack and patterns to improve future approaches to implementation, making them more aligned with production realities.
- Process Improvement & Integration
- Advocate for security solution ideas, ensuring they are well-documented, technically validated, and ready for Engineering adoption.
- Drive and refine the processes by which new product capabilities transition into Engineering for full productization.
- Technical Strategy & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Act as a facilitator between Security Research and Engineering, ensuring that product innovations are seamlessly integrated into Engineering workflows.
- Ensure that product innovations are designed to scale and integrate well within existing engineering frameworks.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Windows low-level security development, including experience with kernel-mode and user-mode security mechanisms.
- Strong proficiency in Rust, C, and C++, with experience working with the Windows API.
- Experience developing security defenses, particularly against ransomware and malware threats.
- Strong understanding of systems and software engineering best practices, including performance, maintainability, and security considerations.
- Ability to bridge the gap between research and engineering, bringing ideas closer to production feasibility.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including cloud, agent, and kernel engineering teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills—able to document, present, and advocate for security solutions within Engineering and Product teams.
