Our team is responsible for dynamics modeling, algorithm design, controls development, and simulation for Tesla Energy's industrial products. Our control system is a foundational building block for power plants and microgrids based on Megapacks, Powerpacks, solar, and wind technologies. Our mission is to empower a seamless energy transition by delivering best-in-class power control systems.
We are seeking a Verification Engineer to join this team, focusing on verification of our controls. This engineer will work across multiple platforms, including control hardware-in-the-loop (CHIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), and Simulink to ensure the control systems developed for the field are ready for real-world operation.
Our controls stack includes both industry-standard and custom-built hardware and software spanning embedded and server-side systems. Flexibility, an ability to understand and contribute to a diverse set of codebases and schematics, an eagerness to collaborate with stakeholders, and strong engineering leadership are key strengths we expect you to bring to the table.

  • Build electrical models that represent power plants and microgrids inside HIL tools
  • Generate testing reports on regression test failures
  • Work to resolve failures in partnership with software and controls engineers

Requirements
  • Strong proficiency with one of the following programming languages: Python, Golang, Rust
  • Experience working with HIL tools such as Typhoon, OPAL-RT, dSPACE, etc.
