Additional Information:
- Consultant will be required to report to the CalPERS Headquarters three day
Project Scope:
The consultant will work with the Enterprise Solution development team and undertake duties and responsibilities as an Application Architect and Data Engineer on critical system change efforts and provide ongoing support for the delivery of robust and reliable solutions. The consultant will design and implement solutions within the organization to solve complex business problems. The consultant will serve as a subject-matter expert in data management; research, analyze, recommend, and select technical approaches for solving exciting, complex development and integration problems.
The consultant will be responsible for gathering user requirements, technical design, and implementation; implementing and maintaining stored procedures and data packages to process large volumes of data and reviewing the designs of the other developers to ensure the solution meets the solution/architecture guidelines set by the project. Additional duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: performing data analysis work; defining technical requirements; creating or updating existing technical design artifacts.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Deliverable 1: Analysis and Design
- Document requirements and technical design to meet the requirements.
- Propose one or more design options as appropriate to each situation, including a level- of-effort estimate and target delivery date.
- Document the design option selected by CalPERS.
Deliverable 2: Implementation, Testing and Support
- Develop approved application changes within the existing technical environments, using the approved promotion path and QA/testing methodology.
- Performing internal unit/QA testing and facilitate user acceptance testing.
- Update and enhance system documentation to keep it synchronized with system and environment changes.
Deliverable 3: Knowledge Transfer
- Contractor will provide knowledge transfer of reporting efforts, escalated system issues, and application changes and enhancements.
- Knowledge transfer to take place at CalPERS via regular scheduled meetings and review of documentation.
- Documentation to include best practices and lessons learned during the project.
On an ongoing basis through the end of the contract, all work products and deliverables (project status reports, business process, triage incident reports with resolution, meeting minutes, test cases, test outcomes) details have to be discussed with the contract manager to ensure that all of the information is documented and placed in a file share. The contract manager will schedule knowledge transfer sessions at regular intervals to ensure that all of the work production details have been documented, and the knowledge has been transferred to the state personnel.
