Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: San Antonio, Texas and Austin TX (Onsite)

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design efforts across diverse building projects. This role will oversee design development, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff. The successful candidate will have experience in sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, federal, and light industrial.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the mechanical design process for assigned projects.
• Prepare design documents in line with project requirements and industry standards.
• Mentor and guide mechanical team members to support professional growth.
• Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met.
• Manage design documentation to allow for QA/QC review prior to submission.
• Coordinate staffing needs with project management on a weekly basis.
• Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing and providing candidate feedback.
• Contribute to at least 10 hours of in-house continuing education annually, including presenting topics of expertise.
• Review and track mechanical design budgets and adjust resources as necessary in collaboration with project managers.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with approximately 10+ years of experience.
• Proven background in mechanical design for healthcare, education, commercial, federal, and light industrial projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and with external consultants.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage teams.
• Occasional night and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
