Location: Philadelphia, PA ( 3 days onsite)

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in healthcare claims data to join our team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that transform raw claims data into actionable insights, directly impacting healthcare operations and analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Architect, construct, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of diverse healthcare claims data from various sources (e.g., EDI 837, 835, proprietary formats).
  • Data Modeling and Warehousing: Develop and maintain scalable data models within data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery) optimized for claims analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
  • Healthcare Data Expertise: Leverage deep understanding of healthcare claims data structures (e.g., CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, NPI, DRG, provider, patient demographics) to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance (HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and implement solutions to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of data ingestion and processing workflows, specifically for large claims datasets.
  • Data Quality and Governance: Establish and enforce data quality standards, validation rules, and governance procedures for claims data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, product managers, and clinical teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Monitoring and Support: Implement monitoring tools and processes for data pipelines to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring data availability and reliability.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, data models, and ETL processes related to claims data.
