Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our Materials & Process team in support of
ordnance evaluation and production support. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and
performance of critical hardware through laboratory testing and direct engagement with production
teams.
In this role, you will conduct service life evaluation and acceptance testing of ordnance articles
using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and methods. You will design, execute, and interpret test
programs to assess functional performance, environmental resistance, and long-term reliability. In
addition, you will be a hands-on technical partner to the production floor, helping resolve
integration challenges, improve assembly processes, and ensure flawless hardware delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute testing for ordnance components, including service life and acceptance
evaluations, using a range of analytical and environmental test equipment.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data to determine performance against requirements and
provide recommendations for disposition.
Develop test procedures, maintain accurate records, and generate detailed reports for internal
and customer review.
Interface with production and assembly teams to troubleshoot integration issues and provide
materials/processing solutions in real time.
Partner with engineering, quality, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement in
design robustness, manufacturability, and reliability.
Maintain compliance with safety protocols, test standards, and documentation practices.

Basic Qualifications
Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment and data analysis.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering fundamentals to real-world
hardware.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact across engineering
and production environments.
Desired skills
Knowledge of ordnance systems, energetics, or related aerospace/defense hardware.
Experience with service life testing, environmental exposure, or reliability assessments.
Familiarity with assembly and integration operations in a production setting.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and root cause investigations.
Hands-on experience with advanced analytical instrumentation, such as:
- Karl Fischer Titrator (KF)
- Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectroscopy (MS)
- Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
- Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
