Job Title: ServiceNow ITOM Lead Developer
Location: Atlanta, GA (Local candidates preferred)
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient ServiceNow ITOM Lead Developer to join our client s IT operations team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in ServiceNow s IT Operations Management suite, with a focus on CMDB, Discovery, and Event Management. Strong hands-on coding experience is required, and Value Stream Management (VSM) is a critical component of the role. The selected candidate will be expected to pass a technical coding assessment during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and enhancement of ServiceNow ITOM modules, including CMDB, Discovery, and Event Management.
- Design, configure, and implement solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Implement and support Value Stream Management (VSM) practices to optimize IT workflows and operational visibility.
- Work closely with ITSM, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure integration and efficiency across IT platforms.
- Participate in hands-on coding, scripting, and automation to support ServiceNow workflows, integrations, and UI customizations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define architecture, and deliver robust ITOM solutions.
- Ensure best practices and governance standards are followed across the ServiceNow platform.
- Prepare and present technical documentation and progress updates to leadership.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience with ServiceNow, particularly in ITOM modules.
- Strong experience with CMDB (Configuration Management Database) modeling and maintenance.
- Deep expertise in Discovery and Event Management within ServiceNow.
- Solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture, including MID Servers, probes, sensors, and integration strategies.
- Experience implementing or managing Value Stream Management (VSM) in a ServiceNow environment.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide scripting, and REST/SOAP integrations within ServiceNow.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Must be comfortable taking and passing a technical coding challenge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist ITOM
- Experience with ITSM, CMDB normalization, and asset lifecycle management
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Dynatrace
- Understanding of ITIL processes and frameworks
Work Model:
- Hybrid Role Candidate must be willing to work onsite in Atlanta, GA from Day 1.
