Description

Engineer, develop, integrate, and release new 40 ton, full molded casted stamping dies for 2000 ton presses to be delivered to Stamping Plants in N.A. region, to support high quality stamping plant production of GM passenger vehicle stamped steel and aluminum sheetmetal components including fenders, floors, roof systems, hood assemblies, and dash panels. Plan, assure, control, and coordinate die quality and development process including die design, engineering, machining, assembly, verification, buyoff, and delivery to Stamping Plants. Create, analyze, and validate Die Operation Layouts, Die Machining Files, Formability Packages, Buyoff of Die Construction reports, and Virtual Die Compensation Cycle processes to ensure stamping die engineering process adherence to Global Manufacturing System principles and standards including people safety and involvement, process standardization, Built-in Quality, short lead time, and continuous improvement.

Additional Description

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and five (5) years of experience as an Engineer, Leader, or related role. Must also have experience with: developing, integrating and releasing stamping dies for presses to be delivered to stamping plants, to support production of passenger vehicle stamped steel and aluminum sheet metal components including fenders, roof systems, and hood assemblies.
