Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Client Industry: Banking Client
Duration: 12 months Contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM 5 PM EST
About The role:
- We are seeking seasoned Business Analysts (Functional) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support complex transformation initiatives across the Investment Banking value chain
- This role will focus on translating business requirements into actionable solutions, ensuring compliance, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving digital transformation initiatives within front, middle, and back-office operations.
- Candidates must bring strong domain expertise across Investment Banking products such as Trading, Interest Rate Derivatives, Capital Markets, Prime Brokerage, Foreign Exchange, and related processes such as Collateral Management, Client Onboarding, Regulatory Due Diligence, and more.
- This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-impact, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams including technology, operations, compliance, and front-office stakeholders.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements related to Investment Banking processes and products.
- Leverage deep understanding of products such as Trading, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Syndicated Loans, and Prime Brokerage to advise and guide business and IT teams.
- Develop and document end-to-end workflows spanning Front, Middle, and Back Office operations; identify process gaps and areas for automation or risk mitigation.
- Ensure business solutions align with regulatory standards and internal control frameworks, particularly in areas like Risk Controls, Client Onboarding, and Derivative Settlements.
- Participate in or lead transformation initiatives, including system upgrades, new platform rollouts, or regulatory implementations across Capital Markets functions.
- Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and external vendors, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of requirements.
- Support project governance by maintaining high-quality project artifacts such as BRDs, FRDs, process flow diagrams, test plans, and training documentation.
- Assist in defining test cases, supporting UAT, and ensuring solutions meet business expectations and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze large volumes of trading and operational data to extract insights, support decision-making, and identify risk or compliance issues.
- Provide domain mentoring to junior analysts and contribute to building functional knowledge repositories for internal use.
What We re Looking For
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Finance, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years as a Business Analyst or SME in Investment Banking or Capital Markets.
- Strong experience in front-to-back operations across investment products.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and control frameworks.
- Exceptional documentation and communication skills.
- Proven experience working in Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across business and technology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in tools like Excel, Visio, JIRA, Confluence, SQL
Pay Range:
Hourly Rate: 55 to 60/hr.
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
