Job Title: Data Architect
Location: Worcester, MA 01605 (Remote work allowed)
Duration: 6 Months (Tentative)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes in support of a Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll implementation. This role involves designing and executing data migration strategies, building Workday Data Gathering Workbooks (DGW), and supporting critical phases such as Parallel and Production builds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for the ETL process in Workday HCM/Payroll implementation.

  • Partner with legacy system owners to extract and transfer data into Workday.

  • Lead data mapping activities from legacy systems to Workday with input from functional leads and SMEs.

  • Oversee pre- and post-validation activities to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for ETL and validation processes, including Lessons Learned.

  • Review, audit, and analyze datasets to confirm completeness, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Collaborate with IT and data management teams to resolve issues and enhance processes.

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.

  • Prepare reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.

  • Proven experience in:

    • Workday HCM/Payroll functional areas (certification preferred).

    • Leading ETL efforts, ideally with Workday as the target system.

    • Data analysis and management tools (SQL, Excel, auditing software).

    • Conducting data processing audits.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in SQL databases, Microsoft Excel, Python, and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).

  • High integrity, adherence to ethical standards, and ability to work independently or within a team.
