Oracle PL/SQL Developer with Unix Shell Scripting & Oracle Forms/Reports

Location:

Onsite Dallas, TX
(Full-time / Contract)


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle PL/SQL Developer with hands-on experience in Unix Shell Scripting and Oracle Forms & Reports development. The ideal candidate will work onsite in Dallas, TX, supporting mission-critical enterprise applications and databases, performing enhancements, maintenance, and optimization of legacy Oracle-based systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, debug, and optimize complex PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.

  • Design, maintain, and support Oracle Forms and Reports for enterprise applications.

  • Create and maintain Unix Shell scripts for data movement, automation, and integration tasks.

  • Collaborate with application teams to integrate database and front-end components.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues in Oracle databases and optimize SQL queries.

  • Perform code reviews and ensure best practices in PL/SQL development.

  • Provide production support and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.


Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development

  • Strong expertise in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting

  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle Forms and Reports (preferably 10g/11g/12c)

  • Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture, indexing, and performance tuning

  • Experience working in onsite enterprise IT environments

  • Knowledge of job scheduling tools like Autosys, Cron, or Control-M

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in migration projects from Oracle Forms/Reports to modern platforms

  • Exposure to Oracle Apex or Java-based front-end technologies

  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools

  • Prior experience in financial or healthcare domains (optional but preferred)
