Job Details

ECS is seeking a Scrum Master to work in our Washington, DC office . Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Description:
  • Guide scrum-team through all sprints of a program increment, removing impediments and championing the team.
  • Organize and facilitate sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other agile related events.
  • Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management.
  • Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs.
  • Assist product owners with backlog grooming.
  • Promote continuous improvement and help teams to increase velocity.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.


Required Skills:
  • Bachelor Degree.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of concurrent experience in project and program management including:
    • At least three (3) years of experience managing IT projects and programs.
    • At least five (5) years of experience in coaching multiple agile teams.
  • Proven experience as a scrum master - KANBAN/SCRUMBAN methods.
  • Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification OR PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification.
  • Proven experience with managing using Dev Ops concepts.
  • Proven experience with Agile Reporting techniques.
  • Proven experience in improving Work -In - Progress (WIP) Management.


Desired Skills:
  • Experience leading Agile Scrum teams.
  • Strong understanding of IT concepts and technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Experience with Atlassian Agile Products; specifically, JIRA and Confluence.
