Location: Washington DC [100% Remote (with slight preference for local candidate to be on campus ~1 day/Month)]
Pay Range: $59/hr. The pay rate may differ depending on your skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.

Summary:
- The Workday Integration Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing integrations between Workday and various external systems.
- This position will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable integration solutions.
- This role requires a deep understanding of Workday integration technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- This position is part of the Enterprise Application Development team in Solutions Engineering (Office of Information Technology).
Essential Functions:
- Develop Integrations:
- Collaborate with business analysts and customer stakeholders to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy integrations between Workday and external systems using Workday Studio, EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), and other Workday integration tools employing an agile delivery methodology.
- Identify and propose optimal integration solutions based on business needs and system capabilities.
- Implement data transformation logic to ensure data is mapped correctly between Workday and other systems, considering data format differences and business logic.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure best practices, scalability, and maintainability.
- Stay up-to-date with Workday integration features, tools, and technologies and make recommendations for process improvements and enhancements.
- Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
- Test and Implement Technology Solutions:
- Develop test plans for developed integrations.
- Perform unit and integration testing.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Validate test results and establish mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that data exchanged between systems is secure and compliant with information security policies.
- Provide Technical Support to Maintain Operations:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues and provide timely resolution to technical problems.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of integrations to ensure efficient data transfer and minimal system impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business users, to ensure successful integration implementations.
- Contribute to design and code reviews of peers.
- Set up error handling and logging mechanisms to track integration errors and issues.
- Document integration designs, technical specifications, and implementation steps.

This position requires flexibility as after-hours support may be required for production issues.
Essential personnel designation: OIT staff are expected to work remotely to support the University community, during unplanned closures or emergencies.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent education, training and experience is required.
- Workday Integration Certification(s).
- Experience with Workday HCM, Financials, Student, and/or other modules.
- Experience with Workato or similar integration platform.
- Demonstrated experience developing integrations in the Workday ecosystem, including Workday Studio, EIBs, XSLT, Web Services, APIs, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services.
- Solid understanding of Workday object model, business processes, and security framework.
- Demonstrated knowledge of core design principles, common data modeling and patterns, data transformation, and data mapping techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
- Commitment to customer service in a diverse population is necessary.
- Ability to prioritize improvements to existing solutions versus implementation of new features and capabilities to maximize business value for our customers.
