Job Details

Role: PostgreSQL Developer
Location: Columbus OH (onsite) - local to Ohio only
Duration: Contract
Overview: PostgreSQL Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of applications and systems that utilize the PostgreSQL database. This role involves a blend of database administration and software development skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Design and Development: Designing and implementing PostgreSQL database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects to support application requirements.
  • SQL Development and Optimization: Writing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, scripts and code for data manipulation, retrieval, and reporting, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
  • Data Modeling and Management: Creating and managing logical and physical data models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security through appropriate constraints, triggers and validation rules.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies such as index optimization, query rewriting, and database configuration adjustments.
  • Data migration and ETL: Developing and executing scripts and processes for data migration, transformation, and loading (ETL) between different systems or database versions.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Working closely with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate database solutions with applications and ensure seamless data flow.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, providing technical support, and ensuring the stability and availability of the PostgreSQL environment.
