Job Details
Position Title: Sr Network Engineer
Experience requirement: 7+ years
Engagement Tenure: 6 -12 months
Location: Philadelphia, Pa
Engagement type: ONSITE
Sr. Network Engineer: This position will be primarily responsible for the installation and maintenance of a variety of network components and their associated equipment, software and applications within the labs. Resource will be required to install, configure, and support multiple network devices in a variety of configurations, technical documentation and working with vendors to resolve issues. Additional responsibilities include:
- Complete updates to LAB Visio network architecture diagrams, including OTN ASN.
- Technical documentation outlining all needed duties and processes when adding a new network device to the DT infrastructure. Radius, AAA, DNS, Visio, etc
- Review and provide input to new technical requirements
- Ability to participate in defining overall approach and structure of lab designs
- Install, configure, and maintain test environment equipment.
- Configure and rework Radius, AAA, DSN, VTY Access list, etc. on all network equipment.
- Proactive identification and resolution of complex technical and operational issues
- Perform bug verification, development and testing on reported issues as needed
- Ability to engage with vendors to resolve equipment issues and identify future needs
- Provide reports on a weekly basis of all system design and maintenance activity
- Coordinate activities between departments to ensure uninterrupted business operation
Skills Required
- 7+ years of experience working in an Enterprise Level Cisco environment
- Strong experience with Switch/Router IOSs, including the physical equipment
- Strong performance monitoring and configuration management tools experience
- Experience working with IP address management tools such as IP-Control or IP-Plan
- Experience with bandwidth analysis, trace routing, TCP/IP Protocol stack etc.
- Strong Juniper and Arista IOS experience
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain Cisco, Juniper, and Foundry IP network switches and routers
- Strong knowledge of IP networks and IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6) (sub-netting, broadcast, multi-cast)
- Experience working with Ethernet packet analyzers/sniffers such as Wireshark
- Knowledge of packet loss, crosstalk, BER, ISO model
- Understanding of WANs, LANs, VLANs, VPNs and firewalls
- Experience with BGP/OSPF/SPT routing protocols and route policies/Class maps/ACL s and prefix list
- Knowledge of multicast IGMPv2/IGMPv3/PIM and DSCP / traffic shaping and policing
- Knowledge of optical equipment and characteristics such as CWDM, DWDM, single mode, multi-mode, SFPs GBICs etc.
- Proficient working with Load Balancers
- Experience administering IP and/or server networks (DNS, TFTP, TOD, DHCP, NAT)
- Ability to configure multicast video and data transport devices
- Working experience with Cable modems, eMTAs, and STBs
- Must have good communication skills, working in teams and as an individual contributor
- Ability to clearly and concisely describe problems in both written and oral forms and communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, professional and pleasant manner.
- Experience working in CO, Headend and /or NOC environments
- Experience administering Cisco CNR or BACC
** Nice to have experience with Routing Protocols; Cisco IP; Junos OS; Cisco IOS XR; Arista Switches; Border Gateway
**CCNP network certification a plus
**JUNOS network certification a plus
