Engagement Overview


We are seeking a Contract Instructional Designer / Trainer to lead the design and delivery of internal training programs focused on Microsoft Copilot, SharePoint Online, and related Microsoft 365 tools.


This role will help non-IT employees better understand when and how to use these tools effectively - enabling productivity, collaboration, and innovation.


Working closely with IT, Learning Management System (LMS) teams, and functional leaders, the consultant will:




  • Assess the current state of adoption




  • Identify user needs and skill gaps




  • Develop engaging, accessible training content




  • Deliver learning experiences both in-person and virtually




This is a hands-on, high-visibility engagement requiring close partnership with IT and business stakeholders.




Key Responsibilities




  • Conduct training needs assessments with IT, business leaders, and user groups.




  • Identify learning priorities and skill gaps among non-IT employees.




  • Partner with LMS teams to develop and publish instructional materials and recorded content.




  • Create practical learning content (guides, videos, job aids, tutorials) covering




  • Design and deliver training sessions (live and virtual) for non-technical audiences.




  • Collaborate with functional leaders to identify champions and SMEs to reinforce adoption.




  • Package training materials for ongoing use within the organization.




  • Support the creation of a repeatable framework for technology enablement and workforce upskilling.






Required Skills & Experience




  • 5+ years in instructional design, learning development, or technology training.




  • Experience creating and delivering engaging content for non-technical learners.




  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including:




    • SharePoint Online




    • Microsoft Copilot (agent creation, workflow integration)




    • Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate






  • Proven ability to conduct needs analyses and translate findings into structured learning.




  • Experience developing blended learning materials (live, virtual, and self-paced).




  • Strong communication, organization, and facilitation skills.




  • Experienced delivering training in-person, virtually, and through LMS platforms.






Preferred Qualifications




  • Hands-on training experience with Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform tools (Copilot Studio, Power Automate).




  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design models.




  • Experience with authoring tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, PowerPoint).




  • Prior experience working with hybrid or distributed teams in complex organizations
