Senior AI/ML Engineer

Blu Omega is seeking a Sr AI/ML Engineer to our Federal Health team based in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will contribute to the rapid prototyping and deployment of AI-powered applications for our customer. This is an exciting opportunity to build real-world experience in designing intelligent solutions using cutting-edge tools like Azure OpenAI (GPT models), Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, and WebApps. As a Junior AI/ML Engineer, you ll work alongside experienced developers and data scientists to create web and API-based applications that integrate natural language processing, cloud services, and modern web technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions using Azure cloud services
• Collaborate with the engineering team on integrating GPT models into web applications and APIs
• Support the creation and testing of rapid prototypes for internal and client-facing use cases
• Write clean, efficient code primarily in Python and/or JavaScript
• Learn and adapt quickly to evolving tools, frameworks, and technologies
• Contribute to documentation, testing, and iterative improvement of AI features

Required Qualifications:

• 5-10+ years of experience in machine learning or data science
• 5-10+ years of experience developing production-grade ML solutions leveraging Python or R
• 2-5+ years of experience in machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Knowledge of cloud native services for data storage, computer, and machine learning, such as Databricks, Domino, or Azure ML
• Ability to utilize generative AI, agent frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) implementation
• Ability to deploy ML models to production at scale, with an emphasis on reliability and performance
• Ability to work with large datasets, distributed computing environments, and cloud services, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
• Ability to work in an Agile environment with tools like JIRA or GitHub
• Ability to support on-site (Atlanta) work as our client requires
• Bachelor s Degree

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions, or Cosmos DB
• Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, React)
• Knowledge of REST APIs and cloud-based app architecture

Location: Must be local to Atlanta, GA (role is mostly remote)

Salary: $125,000-160,000

Our final salary offer will be based on several factors, including depth of technical skills, work experience, education, certifications, and clearance
