Network Engineer (Hybrid in Milwaukee, WI)

Job Summary:

Dexian is seeking a Network Engineer (Hybrid in Milwaukee, WI) for an opportunity with a client located in Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities:

• Build and configure the network infrastructure, including physical and wireless networks, routers, switches, and firewalls


• Perform routine maintenance, apply patches and updates, and upgrade hardware and software to ensure optimal performance and security


• Implement and manage security measures like firewalls, virus protection, and access controls to protect data and systems


• Monitor network performance, diagnose and repair problems, and ensure maximum uptime for users


• Work with other IT teams, vendors, and third-party services to implement new systems and resolve complex issues


• Define, document, and enforce network standards and configurations

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of network infrastructure, hardware, and protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, and DHCP


• The ability to think analytically and solve complex network problems quickly and efficiently is essential


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and stakeholders


• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is typically required. Relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+, are highly valued by employers


• Recent experience as a Network Engineer


• Recent Cisco routing and switching


• Design / Engineer experience, not just operations


• Will be some break/fix


• Strong Layer 2/3 experience


• Aruba, Arista are nice to have skills not required, can be trained


• Zscaler and Palo Alto are nice to have skills not required


• Hybrid 3 days per week in downtown Milwaukee, WI


• 6+ month contract to hire



• 40 hours per week M-F


• Looking at Mid and Sr level Engineers (not Architects)


• Will be working on Aruba, Arista and Cisco products


• Need a routing and switching Network Engineer
