Now Hiring: Communication Center Operator Houston, TX
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Training Provided)
Shifts:

  • 2:00 PM 10:00 PM (Rotating Weekends)

  • 10:00 PM 6:30 AM (Rotating Weekends)
    Hours: 40 per week


About the Role

We re seeking a Communication Center Operator who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment and delivers calm, professional communication support under pressure. You ll serve as a vital link in hospital operations managing calls, messages, and emergency communications for physicians, clinicians, and staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Professionally answer and route incoming calls and messages

  • Complete and manage paging requests for hospital personnel

  • Quickly connect callers to departments or individuals

  • Provide patient information per hospital policy and compliance regulations

  • Maintain and update on-call schedules and contact directories

  • Support emergency and disaster communication procedures

  • Handle other essential communication center duties as needed


Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required

  • Experience: Prior switchboard or call center experience preferred

  • Healthcare experience is a plus

  • Strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to stay composed in high-pressure or emergency situations
