RT SCADA to EMS - GE EMS Expert / EMS Validation Specialist
Remote
12+Month Contract

This role will support the deployment, integration, and validation of SCADA/EMS systems to ensure secure, stable, and efficient grid operations. Candidates must have deep experience with GE EMS platforms, real-time data integration, and EMS validation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support deployment, integration, and validation of SCADA/EMS systems

  • Configure and validate real-time data exchange using protocols (DNP3, ICCP/TASE.2, Modbus)

  • Execute EMS validation and testing methodologies across system functions

  • Perform troubleshooting in real-time, mission-critical operational environments

  • Collaborate with internal teams during EMS projects and upgrades

  • Prepare technical documentation and validation records

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience with GE EMS (Grid Solutions or Alstom Grid EMS)

  • Strong understanding of SCADA protocols (DNP3, ICCP/TASE.2, Modbus)

  • Proven expertise in EMS validation, testing, and real-time systems integration

  • Experience in power system operations, generation dispatch, and transmission analysis

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in operational environments

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred

  • Experience with EMS deployment projects (migration, upgrade, or greenfield)

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for SCADA/EMS (e.g., NERC CIP)

  • Experience with Oracle or SQL databases and scripting (Python, Shell)

  • Prior exposure to utility or control center environments
