Position: Data Architect

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Local Candidate is First Priority or nearby) Onsite

Onsite position with Hybrid (2-3 days in a week)

What the client is looking for : A combination of Data Engineering + ETL + Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks.

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect an enterprise-grade cloud data warehouse/lakehouse on Azure, leveraging Databricks and Snowflake.
• Ensure the chosen architecture aligns with scalability, security, performance, and cost-efficiency requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization (e.g., data scientists, analysts, business users) to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for the data platform, aligning with business objectives.
• Lead the migration of on-premise data sources, including SQL Server databases, SSIS packages, and data stores, to the cloud platform.
• Develop and implement strategies for data transformation and cleansing during migration.
• Design and develop robust and scalable data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming data from various sources.
• Implement real-time and batch data ingestion routines using appropriate cloud technologies.
• Integrate data from diverse sources and target platforms, ensuring seamless data flow.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on cloud data platform strategy, technology selection, and implementation best practices.
• Manage project delivery, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
• Mentor and coach Data Engineers, providing ongoing performance feedback and development opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the data engineering landscape.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud platforms, and big data technologies.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks.
• Proven experience working with Databricks and Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics workloads.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks.
• Proven experience working with Databricks and Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics workloads.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Good to have Professional Azure/ Databricks certification.
