Job Title: Material Developer

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Material Developer to join our dynamic team in the development of women's sportswear. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of innovative and sustainable materials that align with the latest trends and technological advancements in the textile industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in collaborating with various departments to ensure the seamless integration of materials into seasonal collections.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design teams to select fabrics for seasonal lines, including Fall and Holiday collections.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Communicate effectively with overseas vendors via email and Zoom.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, technical design, and product management.
  • Drive material development from concept to commercialization, focusing on sustainability goals.
  • Conduct research on textile trends and technological advancements to enhance product offerings.

Skills Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in materials development within textiles or accessories.
  • Proficient in working with knits, wovens, ribs, and print designs on fabrics.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with textile material development and lab testing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Smartsheets.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different seasons.
