Job Details

Title: Power Electronics Engineer

Location: Gastonia, NC (remote ok if consultant has a lab to test & power 3 phase AC power supply) Length of Contract: 9 months+ extension

Hours: 40 hours per week
Ideal Start Date: 5/19/2025

Drug/Background check BOTH Required
Project/Application: Oxford s client is working on commercial aircrafts, developing the actuators (2) for their cargo door, and includes 2 motor controllers and 12 boards. They are done with designs and have built their first prototype.

Brief Position Overview:
Senior level power electronics engineer experienced in avionics/aerospace
Take ownership of input power stage (AC to DC conversion) of both MCUs.
o MCU1 is a 12-pulse rectifier built upon a 3-phase to 6-phase autotransformer.
o MCU2 is a 6-pulse rectifier straight from a 3-phase AC supply.
Requirements
MSEE OR BSEE paired with 20+years experience
Looking for 15+ years working with at least 5kVA 3-phase AC systems
5+ years with Altium
Motion/Motor Controls (Brushless DC Motors)
Experience with Safety Critical Applications
