Ground System I&T Engineer, designer, Lead

1. Consultant will be involved with many aspects of the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of satellite ground station antennas in outdoor, datacenter, and lab settings including Ground System HITL and Spacecraft HITL.
2. This will involve mechanical, electrical, RF, optical and copper cable and harness/metal design and fabrication, equipment logistics.
3. Sometimes, travel will be required to set up remote ground gateway antenna system sites, install, troubleshoot and maintain.
4. Design and build ground gateway communication systems and involve in all aspects of development (site survey, system design, hardware selection, hardware integration, end-to-end testing, site activation, maintenance, and operations)
5. Design, build and operate hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) of ground gateway antenna systems, support equipment racks and interface to flight hardwares, and other development environments
6. Configure, operate and maintain ground gateway support equipment, antenna stations and sub systems
7. Lead the hardware selection, system integration, test, troubleshoot of ground gateway communication support equipment rack hardware and software
8. Create Schematics and BOM of test systems and mission critical sub systems and entire system.
9. Procure hardware, components, consumable and parts, and perform inventory management including spare parts.
10. Oversee production, testing, quality control, shipment of logistics of ground system hardware
11. Interface with multiple disciplines including customers, suppliers, manufacturers, internal/external integration & test engineers, RF engineers, network engineers, technicians, and etc.
12. Strong understanding of RF fundamentals
13. Strong experience of hands on experience
14. 5+ years of industry experience in design and implementation of RF systems and system-level communication architectures
15. 5+ years of hardware experience with spacecraft, ground stations, IT/networks, other communication systems
16. Strong RF System level experience
17. Experience with Protocase design, hardware assemble, test
18. Have strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
19. Strong Knowledge of the main network protocols and services (e.g. IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, SNMP, NTP, DHCP, VPNs)
20. Experience working with government organizations (USAF, NASA, FAA, FCC, NTIA, etc.)
21. Experience with RF Test equipment: VNA, VSG, Channel Emulator, GPS Simulator
22. Experience developing link budgets and other engineering calculations related to system specification and design
23. Experience with satcom equipment and RF parts including BUC, LNB, LNA, Coupler, SDR, ACU, RF antenna feed, RF Filters, and other RF components.
24. Experience with LEO, MEO, and/or GEO Satellite ground stations related engineering experience
25. Experience with high voltage AC power (110V - 480VAC), DC Power (3.3VDC-48VDC), UPS, PDU, Battery modules, ATS, Power Generator
26. Experience developing tools in Python or Matlab in the use of Visio or other CAD software to develop system schematics
27. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
28. Ability to travel to and work at remote sites supporting test integration, commissioning, and training as required.
29. Solid fundamental knowledge of networks, electronics, math, engineering, and physics
30. Creative approach to problem solving, engineering, and design with exceptional analytical skills
31. Ability to work independently and in a team in ambiguity settings, take initiative, and communicate effectively
32. Experience with Linux and Windows server administration.
33. Experience with Atlassian Tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.
34. Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations.
35. Physical effort including standing, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment up to 50 lbs.
36. Willing to get hands dirty and take extreme ownership to take projects to the finish line per deadlines
37. Be able to handle multiple projects in parallel
