GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This position creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering. Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards. Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation. May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage. This position requires the ability to obtain security clearance, if needed. This position will be onsite.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Use Autodesk Inventor Professional and AutoCAD to provide support to a senior CAD designer and sales team by providing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams for RF assemblies.
Create detailed drawings that are utilized in the manufacturing of products.
Make copies of drawings and maintain information regarding changes to the database.
Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to help create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)
Utilize knowledge of various engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings
Complete finished drawings from sketches or redlines
Maintain excel spreadsheets for production drawings
Create and release source control drawings using Microsoft word
Coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings.
Consult with engineering and manufacturing during creation of drawings.
Advise engineers and manufacturing personnel on correct mechanical callouts to obtain what is desired
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Experience and Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Proficient in using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software.
Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio
Experience with Electronics a plus.
Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties.
Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and maintain respect for others, and following company policies.
Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and changes, and more.
Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
HS diploma or equivalent; completed coursework in computer-aided drafting and math and/or equivalent experience.
2-4 years related experience.
Demonstrated understanding of drafting techniques.
Demonstrated understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Familiar with engineering terminology.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office/Cubicle/Shop floor environments.
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
