Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this position is critical in the Information Technology Department, constantly improving the firm s efficiency and security through technological advancements while maintaining compliance with firm policies and public standards, HIPAA, PII, ISO 27001 & 27017, and Zero Trust. The firm utilizes leading edge technologies from Fortinet, Microsoft, (Windows, Hyper-V, Azure, Office 365), Enterprise SOC, and major circuit providers. This Position requires a person with a diverse perspective and progressive technology skills, following trends to propose opportunities for efficiency, scalability, and risk mitigation. This role will evaluate and recommend the adoption of future advancements in technology. The ideal candidate should keep pace with the firm s expanding service portfolio, high standards, and continued investment in leading edge analytics, services, security, and technology.
This is a lead role in our 3rd line IT Engineering Department located in out New York City office. focused on the Enterprise Network, encompassing design and implementation of hardware, zero trust security, and the operations of network services.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for entire network stack: firewalls, routers, VPN, switches and wireless.
Accountable for configuration, risk management, SD-WAN with a highly available & secure design, and interoperability in a hybrid environment.
Oversee applicable 3rd party vendors that assist with system implementation, support, and operations.
Maintain system monitoring, alerts, thresholds, and capacity management.
Respond to network security events escalated by eSOC monitoring systems.
Lifecycle management; keep software at supported levels, including migration from end-of-life platforms with minimal downtime.
Monitor trends and use such data for proof of concepts to continually improve service and efficiency with automation and make recommendations.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of the firm's technology, such as topologies, software and hardware inventories following the firm s standards for ISO 27001, ISO 27017, and Change & Release Management.
Identify and resolve complex technical problems and performances issues effecting systems and applications.
Advanced troubleshooting of escalated issues from Technical Support, Engineers, Network Administrators, by providing prompt response and solutions, including working with 3rd party vendors until resolved.
Maintenance of systems off-hours, travel as the business requires, and be available for unscheduled emergency maintenance due to faulty hardware and/or software.
Plan, direct and organize activities of the datacenter, technology rooms and its systems contained therein, such as design layout, racks, wiring, cooling, and power distribution.
Maintaining uptime, performance, interoperability, and security certifications in our hybrid environment consisting of a collocated datacenter, Azure, and regional offices.
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Fortinet based networks administration to advanced system configurations. This includes FortiGate Firewall, VPN, SD-WAN, NAC, and Wifi.
Experience with Datacenters & technology rooms, racking and stacking, wiring, power, cooling.
Network encryption standards and authentication methods.
3rd party network providers such as Lightpath, Lumen, ATT, Verizon.
Auditing and logging of network activities (SEIM).
Alerting platforms, such as Solarwinds.
Creating design and operational documentation.
Proficiency within an environment with strong risk controls such as ISO 27001, NIST, or SOC2 standards.
Interpersonal skills, Team oriented, communicative skills and task prioritization skills.
A business case, security first, high availability mentality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree and/or 3 years of experience in a Network Engineering role in a Windows based environment of at least 200 nodes and 3 connected locations.
Attendance Requirements: On site as scheduled working hours require and available as necessary before or after normal working hours.
Smartphone Mobile Device required to insure availability, system monitoring and response to communication during work hours and after-hours emergencies.
Travel occasionally to meet needs of the firm as necessary.
The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $175,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. The salary offered is based on a variety of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary, a generous employee benefits package including healthcare benefits is offered, and successful employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
