Job Title DOM Lead/Developer IBM Sterling OMS (Canada Remote)

Location: (Canada Remote)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled IBM Sterling DOM/OMS Lead Developer to lead the design, development, and integration of business-critical applications for eCommerce and Retail Supply Chain Management. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM Sterling OMS and hands-on experience with Java technologies, along with the ability to guide teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, configure, and implement solutions using IBM Sterling DOM/OMS.
  • Lead the development of Sterling features including participant modeling, order capture, sourcing, inventory, fulfillment, and integration.
  • Customize and extend Sterling DOM components and frameworks (e.g., SDF, Agent Framework, XSLT, APIs, Queue Management).
  • Build and maintain interfaces with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, JMS/MQ, and web services.
  • Develop and maintain technical design documents, test cases, and deployment plans.
  • Ensure high-quality code through unit testing, peer reviews, and debugging.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, QA, business analysts, and project managers.
  • Manage releases and deployments on WebSphere, JBoss, or similar application servers.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide technical leadership across the SDLC.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling DOM/OMS.
  • Deep knowledge of Sterling components including:
  • Participant Modeling & Setup
  • Process Modeling (Pipelines, Transactions, Events, User Exits)
  • Service Definition Framework (SDF)
  • Custom Agent & Extended API Frameworks
  • Queue Management, Alerts, Region Definition, Order Monitoring
  • Inventory, Fulfillment, IBA, RTAM, DB Extensions, Order Capture
  • Experience with Java/J2EE, JDBC, JavaScript, Angular, HTML, XML, XSD/XSLT, DOM Parsing.
  • Hands-on expertise in RESTful & SOAP APIs, MQ/JMS messaging, and database programming.
  • Proficiency in tools and environments:
  • WebSphere, JBoss, Oracle, SQL Server, Eclipse/IntelliJ, GitHub, SOAP UI, Postman, WinSCP, Putty, Jira, Confluence, Clarity.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with software development methodologies including Agile/Scrum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Sterling Store UI development and knowledge of store processes (Pick, Pack, Containers, Shipping).
  • Experience with Sterling Order Console UI and customization of resources.
  • Familiarity with Bitbucket, SourceTree, SQL Developer, Visual Studio Code, MS Visio.
  • Ability to lead teams and mentor junior developers is a plus.
