About the Role
  • As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will be responsible for the development and modification of PC-DMIS NC programs for mill, lathes, and multi-axis machines for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of producing accurate programs and set-up sheets enabling the first article's success on tight tolerance high-value parts for various spaceflight systems.
  • You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and multi-axis lathes
  • Perform hands-on programming and machining of complex aerospace components
  • Collaborate with engineering to document and standardize production processes
  • Prioritize work based on production schedules and organizational goals
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive work environment


Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience machining aerospace components
  • Proficient in machining materials such as Inconel, Monel, Copper, Aluminum, and Titanium
  • Experience with CNC machines such as Mazak, Kuraki, Hermle, OM, and/or DMG Mori
  • Skilled in 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machining (horizontal and mill/turns)
  • Familiar with CNC controls: Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol
  • Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994)
  • Comfortable using personal computers
  • Physically able to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift 25 lbs


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with tooling and fixture design
  • Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) experience
  • Knowledge of outside processing (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding)
  • CMM programming/operation experience
  • CNC programming skills (Mastercam X6-2018, Unigraphics NX)
  • Conversational programming at the machine
  • Experience operating cranes and forklifts
