The Opportunity

At Adobe, we are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Director of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to join our esteemed team. This is an outstanding opportunity to craft the strategic direction for SRE teams and initiatives, ensuring flawless execution and operational excellence. What you'll Do
  • Define and evolve scalable, global reliability standards and SRE practices for core components of the Adobe ecosystem
  • Establish automation and self-service strategies to improve operational efficiency and developer empowerment
  • Champion observability, monitoring, and testing practices
  • Establish a proactive approach to service reliability, including the implementation of processes to ensure a high-quality customer experience through problem avoidance
  • Collaborate multi-functionally with engineering, product, and program management teams to achieve long term positive results related to operational rigor, efficiency, and engineering velocity1

What you need to succeed
  • Degree or equivalent experience, with 10+ years of practical experience in SRE/DevOps leadership operating large-scale, globally distributed systems
  • An iterative, opinionated approach to deliver on the needs of the business today, while evolving the long-term value of Site Reliability Engineering
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing SRE teams
  • Deep expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure)
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure automation, observability, and distributed systems
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and tooling
  • Experience implementing SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
  • Outstanding communication and collaborator leadership skills, including influencing senior leadership cross-organizationally
  • Critical thinking and prioritization skills
  • Decision-making prowess in fast-paced environments
  • Experience in incident resolution and process improvement
  • Ability to champion a blameless culture and drive continuous improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $179,300 -- $354,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
