Role: Database Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: Long Term
We are seeking a skilled Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain databases that support business applications and analytics. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL expertise, experience with database design and optimization, and the ability to work closely with application developers and business analysts to deliver reliable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain databases to meet application and business requirements.
Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Ensure database performance, security, and availability.
Perform data modeling and design database schemas for new applications.
Troubleshoot database issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
Collaborate with developers to integrate databases with applications.
Perform regular maintenance, updates, and backups.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security standards.
Create documentation for database processes, designs, and configurations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience as a Database Developer, SQL Developer, or similar role.
Strong proficiency in SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle).
Experience with database design, normalization, and ER modeling.
Knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization.
Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
Familiarity with BI and reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI).
Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
Certifications in SQL or database technologies (Microsoft, Oracle, etc.).
