Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and related technologies.
- Analyze and troubleshoot application issues, providing timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements.
- Ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of mainframe systems.
- Document technical specifications and maintain system documentation.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Provide support for production systems, including on-call support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in mainframe application development using COBOL.
- Strong knowledge of JCL, VSAM, and CICS.
- Experience with mainframe debugging and performance tuning tools.
- Familiarity with database management systems such as DB2.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
