Cybersecurity Analyst

Reston, VA

2 years contract

100% Remote work

Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible to manage the intake of requests, assist with analysis related tasks of these requests across the various cybersecurity functional areas including Cloud & App Sec, GRC, SecOps, and IAM, in support of I&FS, and determine resulting impact by assessing risks to support, recommend, and implement operational and process related cybersecurity improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical analysis to understand cross functional dependencies and impacts.
  • Work with cross functional teams to determine technical details relating to impacts and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with functional leads within the department and communicate dependencies and impacts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders outside the department to determine interdependencies, and risks.
  • Develop detailed documentation that includes stakeholders impacted, details of the impact, dependencies, and risks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders within and outside the department for effective execution of the strategic initiatives.
  • Be the trusted advisor and go-to for functional leads and team members with questions, understanding risks and dependencies.
  • Assist in the development of training material.

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in technology implementations as a systems analyst, preferably in Cybersecurity industry
  • 5+ years of experience in systems analysis (including cloud environments)
  • 3+ years of experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking concepts, security tools is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (as demonstrated by prior work experience):

  • Knowledge of Cybesecurity functional areas such as Governance Risk and Compliance, Identity and Access Management and Security Operations
  • Ability to analyze multiple moving parts and map things together between cross functional areas to determine downstream impact.
  • Ability to coordinate and bring together resources from various perspectives (business, data, technology, etc.) to implement quality solutions.
  • Demonstrate capacity to troubleshoot security issues, develop effective solutions, and implement them in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform and work on multiple tasks with changing conditions/policies/procedures and priorities in a fast-paced and sometimes intense working environment, while staying productive and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees, and vendors in a clear and precise manner.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and MS Visio and Jira in the day-to-day essential duties of the job.
  • Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, and being resourceful, responsive, and respectful.
