Job Details

You will be a member of the Engineering Services Team as a Level 2 (II) Technician. This team provides support to a variety of engineering groups by running tests, collecting test data, troubleshooting test issues, and general support across multiple labs.

Type: 6 - 12 month Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: 25/hrly - 30/hrly - Hourly wage/Salary may be negotiable based upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors
Location: Beaverton, OR
Schedule: 8am - 5pm

*Position requires the ability to analyze and understand necessary tasks and to be able to carry those tasks through completion with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Support various engineering teams to collect data for product/design validation
  • Support various engineering teams with hardware and software setup on lab stations
  • Test, bring-up, debug, and re-work prototype and reference boards.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
  • Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment
  • Responsible for communicating directly with the engineer
  • Assist in the design, construction, test, and check-out of test setups
  • Create & implement test procedures based on specification data requirements
  • Provide engineers with test data summaries in an understandable and complete manner


Required Experience and Skills
  • AAS degree or relevant experience in a related field
  • Basic understanding of Ohm's Law and electronic theory
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, DC power supplies, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.


Ideal experience:
  • Experience in electronics engineering laboratory environment
  • Experience in SMT soldering components at least 0201 size
  • Experience in an ESD environment
  • Fundamental understanding of RF technologies such as Bluetooth and WiFi
  • Fundamental understanding of acoustics, and the connection of acoustics to electrical systems
  • Experience with RF test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc.
  • Experience in using, debugging, editing, and writing Python scripts
  • Experience in using, debugging, editing, and writing NI LabVIEW programs
