About the Role

We are seeking an SAP Techno-Functional Payroll Consultant to support Delta Airlines in implementing and optimizing its SAP S/4 HCM Payroll systems. The successful candidate will combine deep SAP Payroll configuration and technical expertise (ABAP, schemas, PCRs) with strong business process understanding to deliver seamless payroll execution and compliance across a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate implementation, support, and optimization of SAP S/4 HCM Payroll per business requirements.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to align payroll processes with enterprise objectives.
• Configure and enhance SAP Payroll schemas, PCRs, and wage types per U.S. payroll regulations.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and agile stories.
• Perform end-to-end testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution during implementation.
• Provide subject matter expertise on payroll functionality, integration, and compliance.
• Lead design, configuration, and development of complex payroll solutions.
• Participate in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases.
• Document functional and technical designs, test cases, and outcomes.
• Proactively identify and recommend system and process enhancements for continuous improvement.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SAP HCM Payroll (configuration and technical development).
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4 HCM, ABAP, schemas, PCRs, and wage type configuration.
• Proven experience with U.S. Payroll and compliance for large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with integration testing, transports, and production support.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills to collaborate across HR, IT, and Finance.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience supporting airline or transportation industry clients.
• Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors integration and Cloud Payroll solutions.
• Agile delivery experience with story writing and acceptance criteria definition.
• Exposure to SAP Time Management, Benefits, or Finance integration.
