The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 224,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

What YOU will do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and optimize network solutions aligned with business needs.
- Lead multiple high-visibility network implementation projects, owning them from initial design through activation and support.
- Directly engage with customers and field technicians to manage WAN circuit activations, troubleshoot complex issues, and execute seamless network cutovers.
- Create detailed cutover plans and maintain critical network documentation, including asset records, circuit information, and diagrams.
- Support and troubleshoot advanced network issues, serving as an escalation point for technical challenges.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and optimize deployments based on performance and feedback.
- Mentor and coach junior network engineers, providing guidance on best practices, standards, and growth.
- Develop and deliver formal and informal technical training sessions and labs.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on emerging technologies and operational processes.
- Author and maintain high-quality documentation, including network diagrams, implementation guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting playbooks.
- Evaluate new tools and technologies, and train the team on their use.
- Champion process improvements to enhance network reliability, scalability, and team efficiency.
- Provide presales support with calls to existing and potentially new customers
What YOU will learn
- How to distill complex concepts into accessible training materials and step by step documentation.
- Build your skills in coaching, mentoring, and onboarding engineers to ensure consistency across the Implementation teams.
- Master the creation of playbooks, standard operation procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Deepen your knowledge in wide-area networking and security, including BGP routing, NAT, VPNs, DMVPN, and Cisco ASA firewalls.
- Build global implementation experience in a large-scale, service provider-class WAN supporting aviation and transportation systems.
- Develop your leadership and customer communication skills through cross-functional, high-impact projects and real-world deployments.
Qualifications YOU Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- 5+ years of experience configuring Cisco routers and switches in a production WAN
- Prior experience building router configurations using templates and BGP routing expertise.
- Prior knowledge of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, NAT, VPN, etc.), firewalls, and network security principles.
- Prior experience mentoring technical teams or delivering technical training
- Prior experience diagnosing network and application issues through analysis of packet captures or system logs and/or performance metrics
Qualifications WE Prefer
- Excellent oral and written communication and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- CCNA certification required, CCNP highly preferred.
- Prior experience implementing WAN connectivity in a large-scale enterprise or service provider environments.
- Experience developing structed training content and technical documentation
- Extensive knowledge of the ARINC Global Network (AGN).
